Jack,
I think Turq looks really sharp with the new bows and the white top! I just wish you'd get rid of those nasty bestop bows now that you have the real deal! Why would you want to keep them on anyway?
I see the two back side bows in their place, but what happened to the back top bow?
Ya did good with the white top on Turq. That really looks sharp. Tell your bride she did a great job picking the color for you!

How are you guys seeing those pictures? Every time I try to view them, it asks me for a google password.

I see them without an issue most likely because I have a Google account (Gmail and Picasa). Maybe Jack should embed his pictures in the thread or perhaps his Picasa account is set up diferently than mine. See if you can access my stuff in Picasa .

Jeff...it must KNOW it's one o' them "Fightin' Ill-guys"! <g>
Actually, I dunno why it would ask you for a password...that's supposed to be a "Public Album". Gale: Thanks for the compliment...and as for "pink", I don't expect that to become a problem. We've got some red clay roads, but most of 'em are hard t' find around here. We tend to have a layer of grey sand (sand and loam together, I guess) on top of the _various_ colors/types of clay. In fact, when we dug for the pool, I'd bet that we saw at LEAST 15 different shades, from the usual brick red, all the way to dark blue and white! And MIke...I'll tell her that you like MY color choice! <g> (Besides, after _I_ selected white, I got HER approval! <g>) As for the Bestop frame, NOW I can remove it...but first I wanted to be sure that all of this was gonna work out. I don't have a lot of storage space, y'know! <g> I also just got back from my first "Test Run" with the top in place. Above about 50 MPH, it does tend to "beat" a bit, but it sure made it a much more pleasant ride, with the sun shining down on it, rather than on my head! All in all, a very satisfied customer here! |

I just went to the page to check it, and sure enough...says that making it Public will make it "viewable to members of the Picasa community"!!! Never realized that! The problem with embedding them in this thread Sam, is that I have to switch browsers (to Firefox), I think. Just didn't want to do that earlier, but I'll see what I can do now.
BTW Mike...the pics of the bows in the side pockets were taken on an earlier day, _before_ they were painted, and I was just testing for "fit". Since I'm still not convinced that the paint job is completely dry as yet, I just didn't want to scruff up the rest of them yet. Besides, I don't yet have a strap for them to keep them in the pockets! Gotta buy or make one o' those! You got an extra? <g> |

Sorry Jack, I don't have any straps at all, much less any extras. But if I had one I'd share it with you. You could use it all winter while I've got my top on, and I'll use it all summer while the top is off! How's that for cooperation!
I've been waiting on Matt to figure out that he could make straps for all of us from his bungalow in the North Sea, and start taking orders for Christmas delivery! Let's see.... I need the windshield tie down strap, the top bow strap, the canvas top tie-down straps.............

OK! I'll go along with that sharing idea! <g>
And as for the strap...that was why I said something! I dunno why he doesn't think that he can just pack and ship that sewing machine, along with all of his other "stuff"! (Even his wife is in favor of his continuing to sew after they get over there! How can he argue with that?) And that brings up another question...I know that there was a brief discussion of listing items that people would like to see being done, but I'd say that we need a separate thread for that. Has someone already started it, and I just missed it? If not, maybe I should go start one right now! Good. I'm glad we discussed it! <g> Look for a new thread in "General Discussion", I suppose, taking "requests" for items that others would like to see being made by someone on the list! |

I could see them o.k. but when I clicked on on to enlarge it I get that kinda matrix look (or whatever term you use) in other words the enlargement doesn't focus.

Roc, I get that pixelated look too when the large image first comes up. Let it set for about 30 seconds or so and the image gets nice and sharp. It's kinda like Jack, a little fuzzy when you first look at him, but the longer you look, the sharper he gets!

That's me, Roc! Fuzzy! <g> (But Mike's also right, in that I get REALLY SHARP after a short wait! <g>)
Al: You need to take another pic of that good-looking Jeep with the bikini! I can barely see the top for the fence behind it, and the angle!...but what I CAN see looks good! Did you have any problems slipping your center tube into the uprights? Edited by Jus*Jack - 17 July 2008 at 12:27am |

Glad you guys like the tops! They're tough too, the seams are at least double stitched. The fabric will rip before the seams rip. You guys can crank down on those straps to get a nice tight fit, it helps a little with the flapping and pulls everything snug. Oh and I made the straps extra long, once YOU find a nice length and buckle location feel free to trim them. A lighter will melt the ends of the black straps. Oh, I'm to busy to make straps and Art C. is going to give it a go (i think) Edited by trader_reed - 17 July 2008 at 2:04am |
