Typing on my Mac, with the cursor where I want the symbol, I choose 'Edit' from the menu bar, scroll down to 'Special Characters', and click on the 'º' symbol. Should be something similar on a MSDOS system.

On a PC, type just what I posted. Hold the ALT key down while typing the numbers 2 4 8. It only works on the number pad though and not the numbers above the letters.
I don't know how to do it on my iPad.

In fact if you look at an ASCII chart you can find the number for any letters and symbols.

On my Thrive there is a MORE button for that.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥¥§§§§§§§§§§§℅℅℅℅℅℅®®®®®®®€€€€€€€££££££ΔΔΔΔΔΔΔ√√√√√√√πππππππ

(May be that way on an I pad too, I don't know)

That's good to know though, I've always wondered about that on my laptop.

Well finally got my curisoty up.

Did a search and found this ° on my IPhone.

Hold down the 0 after the 9 and a little blue box pops up giving you a choice between
between....° or 0....depending on how you slide your finger
