Welcome to the 2015 Fall Colors Tours in Colorado!!

This will be the 8th year of Fall Colors Tours, and each year just gets bigger and better than the years before.  This year we want to see if we can get over 25 Jeeps on the trail at one time.  And we encourage even those folks who cannot tow their Jeep here, to come along for the rides.

Was your Jeep one of the lucky ones in this great photo posted by jpet, our roving reporter?  If not, why not get it included in this year's lineup?!!

And he didn't photoshop the sky.  It really is that blue!

Here is a short movie about our tours and facilities made by RealDeal (Dave) from Denver.

We are planning another grand year of tours for everyone to enjoy!

What are the dates?  September 21(Monday) to 27 (Saturday).

Where are we located?  Just a few miles south of beautiful downtown Nathrop, Colorado!!

So make your plans and book your reservations for another grand week of Fun Willys, wild weather, and beautiful mountain scenery!

Thanks for posting the video Mike, I had to watch it! Never get tired of it. Dave did a heckuva job, like you do with the Tour. You know I'll be there!  Bruce
It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Happy Trails! Good-bye, Good Luck, and May the Good Lord Take a Likin' to You!

The wagon is Mike's brother in law.

Of course Mike 'found' the wagon for him.

Real nice ride but it smokes a bit...

Last year was a big year for Family for me.  I had my son, daughter, mother, 3 sisters, one brother in law, and one niece all go on rides with us.  First time I've had that much family participation.  I enjoyed having them along.  My Brother in law and little sister bought the wagon because they had two kids and two dogs to take along and wanted the room.  Kids are grown, but the dogs are still around, so now they have lots of room to haul other relatives.  They are trying to figure out if they want to leave it original, Clean it up with new paint, or mod it with upgrades.  They are leaning toward leave it original.

Leave that one original, buy another one to lift, V8, cut back the fenders and add flares... that one is too original to mod.

Mike:

Tell your brother-in-law to keep the Willys Wagon's palomino paint job and lovely patina, but get it some Nicotine patches.  Wink

Will do Fred.  LOL  They are leaning that way anyway.  Less work.  But he has GOT to replace the springs underneath it.  They had a nice arch at the beginning of the tours, but were sagging horribly by the end.

I just want to let everyone know that we will have a staff change here at the Thirsty Dirt Ranch for the 2015 Fall Colors Tours.  Ellen and Steve are moving out and moving on, so your's truly will be running a bachelor outfit for a while.  I'm holding onto the Thirsty Dirt Ranch so we'll still have the same headquarters and same great shop to work in during the FCT.  It's a friendly split, but a split none the less so they will not be around to help with logistics for future FCT's.  Now we'll see just how much work the FCT really is when I'm doing it as a one-man-show.  The show will go on!!

I'm not asking anyone for help at this time.  I think it's a manageable thing.  I am thankful that everyone does such a great job of taking care of themselves during the week.  I will make sure the showers and bathrooms will be available as always.  My neighbor has offered up a 16 x 16 wall tent as a bunkhouse during the tours  so we may be able to house lots of folks on site.  The bar-b-que room under the porch will still be available for everyone to use.  And we'll still have lots of electric power for anyone who needs it.  So I expect that we'll have all the facilities we've enjoyed in the past.  We just won't have the full staff to greet and help folks that we've had before.

BUT THE TOURS WILL GO ON!!!    BE THERE, OR MISS OUT!!!

I am trying to think about a good Jeep project to work on during the FCT.  I am thinking that I will take all the electronics out of Electro-Willys and put it back to a working gas engine vehicle.  I have an M38 block that needs to be stripped and checked.  Maybe we can strip Electro-Willys and the engine and see what the engine will need to get it in shape to go into what will become the Chilly-Willys, arctic adventure jeep!!

I'm sorry to hear about the split. That's never an easy thing to go through. Hopefully you're doing okay.

Hope to be there subject to the usual uprisings, rebellions, revolutions and other words that start with R.  Other restrictions are health issues and tow vehicles.

Splitting up never easy ,no matter what, but you do live through them........................
Two jeeps on the road, one is close and the rest are dreams.
