Oh Boy.....Bet this takes off like a rocket! With all the new members and summer approaching eveyone will need a Reedkini. Don't miss out on the opportunity! They are the best I've seen and stow nicely in the toolbox when not in use (fold up small). Sailrite is the place to go for the material IMO.
TR will have to be over here for a few months plus Topbows.com orders will be burning up the internet.

OK don't anyone go crazy now, It's no use PMing me to be on the 'list' cause this time it'll be done a little different. Last time worked great with everone sending me the canvas an such but due to the short time I'll be back in the States I think I'm going to contract someone to make the Reedkini and make a run of say 50 black, 25 white and 25 tan all made out of Sunbrella.
I still think Art got the nicest one, wanna sell it Art ;^)

Oh I've got the 2 prototype Reedkinis, but I actually don't have a finished model for myself I ended up selling mine to someone who miised out. Art's was made from vintage olive drab canvas. It was super heavyduty and smelled nice and old. Jus'Jacks was nice too. His was really tough cause it was snow white and I was so worried aout getting it dirty while I was making it, I wanted it to be perfect. RIP Jack !! I think WFB got the other I liked (tan w/black) and Sam wit his tan w/white and Jeff got a dark, dark green with black. Someone got one that was almost white, like parchment or something, mighta been Sam also, it looked already dirty to me. (sorry to who owns it)

Good! I think we should start a database with this info. That way future generations won't have to research the history of the Reedikini the way we do other jeep parts!

Looks like Sam bought BK001 Reedkini (wouldn't you know it)........not counting the prototypes of course. I got BK008
Jeff yours is BK011
That was Sunbrella "Toast with burnt crust" as you so aptly put it TR.
Glad you are thinking of doing this for us Matt! Hope it works out for you (and us)

Yup. Better update my avatar signature
Edit. Since Matt made two prototypes, wouldn't they be BK001 & BK002 and mine would be BK0010A ?
Edit2: Oops, I see that Russ got two so that makes me BK0011 like WFB said.

I gotta get outta France and back to Ireland before I can even call back to the States and get the ball rolling but this just might work, do you think 100 is to many? Or is 50 enough?

No way I'm selling mine!
I still need to figure out a staining or dye'n of the straps.
My test runs of coffee and tea just were not strong enough.

This is the first reply I have done, But I would like to order a tan one, for our 1948 CJ2A . It sounds like I also need to order the bows from some other source. Does anyone have details -- So I get the correct ones?
Thanks, Bill
