I guess I will see what they do, by the time I can get to it, I will be a johnny come lately. Every junk Jeep on ebay will be sporting black primer and red wheels and going for three times the price it should

Well I've got one of those frames they are using (outboard rear spring hangers) in case you just can't wait to build one.......(man, I hope people don't start building these.) 'rat jeeps' I mean. It would be just like the old Ford stuff, people wasting perfectly good metal to throw together some 'crap' because they think it's the 'kewl' thing right now.
On a related topic....I sent Cappa a couple of pictures of 'Frankie'......we'll see what he has to say.

..........or the 'attitude' put forth in the magazine in general. It really had promise in the first year but they chose to go down another road.......away from all us old farts and cater to the 'me,me,me' generation instead.
Which is why I have answered the way I have when asked "man, you oughta send some pictures in to a magazine."............oh yeah? Which one? I can think of two or maybe three and one of those just does stock, vintage trucks so.........................it doesn't fit their format. The other two would only be interested in it as a novelty. (which it is really)
I'm not sweatin' it...........

When cappa et al did their "steal-J " article I was done . That and their insistence on keeping the soft porn in the mag like a bunch of immature 7th graders kinda tells a lot about what is on their minds.

Let them have their fun. I saw the Monster Rods built on Peterbuilt chassis at the Charlotte Auto Fair a couple of years ago. They were impressive, silly yet still impressive.

Meh I love JP and many of the articles they do. They are the ONLY ones that even LOOK at the vintage iron. I like the rat rod idea and will follow that article, and planned to make one out of a late 70's/80's Postal Jeep.
They try to cater to ALL the jeeps best they can, they have to to SELL MAGAZINES. Sorry but we aren't the only ones reading. As for the 'soft core porn' there is WAY worse then that on OVER THE AIR television. I don't even think I have seen maybe 2 or 3 ads with girls in it since they got rid of "ask Bree three" It was stupid anyway. They should have used the girl from Xtreme 4x4 (Jesse) Roc, I would not be surprised if they did a full write up on your rig if you were to send it in. There was a similar one made on a TJ platform that they did a write up on recently. That thing is just plain cool, wheeled or not. They had a C101 or VJ article in there a few months ago too. |

Thanks for the compliment but I don't look for any ink there......would really surprise me if it did happen....There have been some free lance pictures taken but the photographer said he doubted JP (I sensed some previous 'words' maybe) but thought "another" might use it......so far, no.
I feel like if I was to take it to the Easter Safari in Moab or any of their 'favorite' rides, it would probably get a little exposure.....but basically I'm a realist and it don't look for it to happen.
Oh I think I might could get into a Readers' Rides section or something but I haven't persued that.
But thanks for the thoughts anyway....(and just for the record, I didn't have a problem with Bree....pretty easy on the eyes)
