I have been trolling through the for sale listings tonight with both IE and Firefox. It seems to work fine. Those of you having trouble should try deleting your browser cache and cookies to see if that helps. I am not a regular on eWillys so there is no residual baggage on my system from previous versions of the site.

IE on any computer i have been using, and Safari on my iPhone has been opening the site ok...
if your probs continue, pm me and i will call or txt dave and let him know....if he calls, i might even be meeting up with him tomorrow sometime as his travels will take him very near to me..

Here are directions for refreshing the cache of Internet explorer 7.
http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/ie7/ Or, go to the below links and then to the home page and see if that makes a difference. After clicking on the links, then click on the eWillys icon in the upper left of the page. It should take you to the home page and, hopefully, will fix the problem. http://www.ewillys.com/?cat=12 http://www.ewillys.com/?page_id=21908 http://www.ewillys.com/?page_id=39553 |

Bill,
Losing all your passwords means that your cookies have been deleted. The cache saves previous versions of the Web pages so they do not have to be downloaded again if they have not changed. Your cache may not have been deleted, and, my guess, it is those old versions of the Web pages that are causing your problem.

Sam it gives me the options of deleting cookies, temporary internet files, history of visited websites, stored form info , and passwords... or I can delete all, and if I do it gives me an additonal option when I do that of deleting files stored by add ons......and I have done all that and also have reset the IE settings to default.. I came back to this page as a guest, and clicked on the links Dave provided (which were all blue again, showing I had never been there altho I had been to al of them before resetting) and still, it hangs up instantly on the home page. I do NOT seem to have anything about deleting cache in this version of IE , unlike Dave's example screen shots.. I have VIsta and IE7
A bonus is that everything else is loading faster so that is a good thing......lol.

The "temporary Internet files" are the "cached" pages.
IE7 is a bit long in the tooth. You may want to download a newer version of IE, or, in my opinion, Firefox or Google Chrome. I'm almost certain that any of those choices will allow you to access eWillys satisfactorily.

I just realized that I am using a customer computer that is not mine and it has IE7. I cannot completely load the home page of eWillys.com. At home with both IE9, Firefox and Google Chrome, I have no problem with the site.
Edit: Also, I just found that I can easily load eWillys.com using the Safari browser on my Android phone fetching both the mobile site as well as the normal site. The pages load very quickly on the phone. Edited by samcj2a - 15 Nov. 2011 at 7:37pm |

Well, I got sick enough of IE7 I finally downloaded Firefox, and guess what, it works.
I went and googled the problem with IE7 hanging on certain websites and it seems to be a common one, and there is a common spiel of things to do, which I have already done..As a bonus I seem to now have spellchecker on my posts automatically as I type now, which is sorta handy,.especially for a typificator like me. |

If anyone is still having problems loading eWillys, Dave Eilers just emailed me from the road and asked that this link be posted. Glenn

Same here....didn't help. (although a little more text loaded before it locked up)
The frustrating part is that you can't exit out of it...I have to Restart my computer.
