When I was putting my manifold back on, there is this vacuum line that runs from cyl 3&4 intake side (where the wipers would hook up to on a 2A) and goes down to the vacuum pump. The port that goes to the wipers is plugged since I have electric. I took that line off and plugged up the port on the intake. Well, when I started it, oil was coming out of a vent on the pump. Why would it do this? I hooked it back up and the problem went away. Figured I'd get rid of that line since I didn't need it for the wipers.

Also wanted to add, the pump was new when I first got the jeep 10 years ago. LOL

I'm not sure I understand where you said the oil appeared, but no matter. The only way for oil to get out of the pump is if a diaphragm is ruptured. Sounds like you need a rebuild kit, or switch to the non-vacuum pump.

In not sure, the vac line had no oil in it so it's not leaking.
