With reference to the comment about ordering a part from someone, they don’t have in stock but place the order with another or a warehouse and it is drop-shipped. I suppose many do this and some I’m guessing don’t even have an inventory or parts warehouse at all. Recently I had trouble finding poppett springs and ball bearings for a shift tower. So I call a dealer who took my order and told me they have it and will go out right away. I’m thinking this is great since I have my tower on the bench and can’t go anywhere till I get the parts. I get the parts two weeks later and at a premium costs that I later purchased a dozen springs and 200 bearing for less.
I want dealers to tell me where & who they are getting their parts from and if they are going to be drop shipped. I guess I still expect service and for people to be straight up and honest. I don’t do the dance and would just as soon deal with guys I have met via the CJ2apage.com. Some are making a business of it and some are just trying to help out when they can, but I feel like they are a lot more dependable and upfront to the point of even checking to make sure I’m going to get a part that fits my need rather that just selling to me once without concern for repeat business or reputation. If I receive a newly manufactured part that has been covered over with bubble wrap before the paint is even dry It’s going right back and I’m not paying any return, restock or shipping fee. That is one big reason why I (so far) prefer to deal with PayPal. If I have a dispute I feel like I have recourse. To my friend on the page who are doing business I hope you will offer that service and that option, for my connivence. I know PayPal is not a bank but so far that account has not cost me anything and the one dispute I’ve had was resolved in about two hours, with a full refund to my account. That’s my 2. Hello Rommel,
I want to buy a new CJ2A tub very soon and I need to know which vendors in the US currently have the most up to date product. How do I verify when the tub was built in your factory with the proper updates posted on this forum? Thanks, David

Rommel- is there any chance you will also reproduce the side steps for the early CJ5?
Thanks Mike

Actually if Rommel would make just the tread available , those of us with good brackets and bad step treads could repair our original stuff......the step itself I have been told is the same throughout jeep production, differing only in bracket placement and brackets themselves. I have a chromed one from the factory for a much later jeep, that is indistinguishable from a 3A step I have.

Hello everyone,
Well I took the plunge and ordered a new 2A tub from Bensinger in December 2014 and I picked it up today in Kansas City, Kansas. I do have a few pics while still in the crate and I'll post as many detail pics here as possible. I for one am very pleased with what I've seen with this newest product. MY manufacture date is January 2015 and I've been assured it has all the newest improvements. Rommel has added the "Jeep" script to the front of the tool box. Give me a few days and I'll have more information.

Davidover- I am looking at doing the same thing. Did you special request the "JeeP" on the toolbox or are all of the bodies coming with that now.

I requested a tub freshly manufactured from Bensinger. I'll of course drill my own mounting holes. The gas tank strap brackets, all bow brackets, and E-brake parts need to be added. The transfer case shifter fix is still being made from the floor stampings they have on hand. My brother ordered a MB2A kit and its the same way and both tubs will require a little clean up as the weld bead line is still noticeable. My 2A tub is covered in black Epoxy primer and will get a good sanding and coat of new primer before painting.
Mike, I would call and order a tub from Bensinger as they may have a new one like mine still on hand. I chose to wait and it was worth every penny to do so. The problem with other vendors is you may be getting old stock from the Omix warehouse that's been sitting for years. My uncle ordered a 2A Replitub from Overland in 2008 that was supposed to have everything fixed and NOTHING FIT. My uncle had to weld in new floor boards because the pedal and steering holes were way off and his frame was straight as a whistle.
