The tub is in Oregon and I am in California right now. I suppose I will eventually have the number. If it's important to you, I'll post it here.

Not super important Mike; however, members following your thread would be interested in knowing the production date in order to make their own decision on when and where to purchase a body kit.

Finally ready for paint…

Darrell (Red Dog) was gracious enough to send along some photos of the Willys in final primer. Thanks Darrell. Rob is letting the tub sit and off gas prior to final paint in light tan with semi-gloss clear. I think it looks really good!

This has come a long way from the admittedly poor tub I purchased from Willys Overland. Proof of what a patient body guy can do.

I called New Life Canvas today to order seat covers, foam, pans, and seat backpacks to be made from waxed no.10 duck Martexin canvas in tan. I think that this will look great on the light tan Jeep with dark grey powder coated seat frames. I had to call Fairfield Fabrics to special order the waxed canvas I needed, but I think this will be far more weather resistant than standard WR canvas.

These should be ready by the time I am completing the reassembly… not long now.

Mike did your gas tank holes in the tub line up?  Mine were there but they are way off.

Ryan --

Of course NOT!!! I think we had to correct nearly every hole in the tub… pedals, gas tank, shift levers, etc.

It is superior to my original tub only by virtue of being free of rust. We re-used as many original parts from the other two tubs as possible.

I REALLY wish that Classic Enterprises would built a tub kit or complete kit. They would be RIGHT and they would be worth 2X what MD Juan tubs/kits sell for. And they would be made in the USA.
Sorry, had to vent a bit.

Talked to Rob, the painter, today. Weather permitting it will be painted on Wednesday. I am getting a bit antsy to see the body done and painted - them I can retrieve the Jeep to my shop, and start wiring, fuel lines and final bits and pieces.

I am planning a summer and fall of fun wheeling around in the Willys.

FIRST COLOR!

Started painting small parts - the rest should be done with 4-5 coats of satin clear today.

Here is a sample of the color we are calling 'desert storm tan'.

Looks slightly green in the photo due to neon lighting in the shop.

PAINT IS DONE

Here is the tub - freshly painted today. Thanks to Red Dog for the excellent photos.

The light in the paint booth is a bit green, but the first two photos are very close to the actual color.

I am stoked!

Ben - these are 29 X 9.50/15 on white American racing wheels. I will have no need for them, as I sam going back to 16" wheels and IROK NDs. I'd be happy to sell them to you for cheap.
