guys, this may have been kicked around already, and i have looked at seans site. on the column shift, what size bolt goes in the rod to hold it in place that the shifter controls. you know, the rod in the thinga majiggy that the shifter moves up and down in. also, the shifter rod that you hang onto itself, it looks like a rivet. mine looks like a rivet thats had the hell beat out of it. anyway, how does it come out, and what can you replace it with?
thanks,
eric

Eric,
I think I know what you are talking about..? This is a "sex nut" and from my understanding, very hard to find. Jim R. at Northstar doesn't have a sorce for it. he told me to make sure I didn't destroy it when I disassembled mine. It looks like something that may be available with some types of archetectual Hollow metal hardware ie. double door cooridnatores, closures and such. I'll do a search at work thru our misc. parts and see what I can find. Anyway heres what it looks like.
I'll look and see what I can find and post it in the parts project.

I guess you could do a web search for 'sex nut' and see what you turn up...should be interesting. I've never heard them called that....learn something new every day on this board. |

Maybe one of us more fortunate members with a lathe can turn a couple on a lathe.
