Hi all
I am from South Africa and new to the Jeep forum, I have recently purchased 2 x Willys Jeeps and would like some help identifying them both. Any help would be much appreciated. As far as my research goes, this will be a CJ2A - it is a 1948 LH model. The second one I think is a CJ5

Welcome to the forum. Geez you SA guys have a lot of jeeps down there. Hopefully y'all network with one another......
Your pics are kinda small... does LH mean left hand drive or that you have a "lefty" jeep? If it's a "lefty" what is the serial number? Your CJ5 looks kinda long....is it a CJ6? The serial number might provide the clue.

The pictured cj5-cj6 also has a flip out windshield, I might be wrong but I thought that was only on the early m38a1

I found that in windows, if you right click on the image and then click "Copy Image URL", then paste that URL into a new browser window, the photos come up larger. I've pasted them in clickable format here. Just click on them and get bigger pictures. Edited by smfulle - 27 Aug. 2014 at 6:52pm |

Well there you go!
I think I see a battery box in the cowl.....I seem to recall that CJ-6 vehicles were mostly built for export and shared a lot of the characteristics of the M38A1. Characteristics that were not necessarily shared with US versions. Other more informed experts will chime in. Nice family.

Hi all
Thanks for the replies - I will attempt to make the pictures bigger. @ damar -LH is Left Hand Drive yes, we have Right Hand Drive vehicles in SA. Unless imported

I had a cj6, and they have a 20" piece from the original fenderwell opening to the extended fenderwell opening! This is a true cj5!!
