It's a wartime rifle holder which usually mounts on the lower windscreen.

It is radioactive waste, and it would be best if take it off your hands and store it properly in my jeep.

Thank you all very much!  Unfortunately, I don't have any M1 garands laying around so this was the best I could do to test it out.

Larry's picture has the rack mounted the correct way and Brett's is mounted upside down I think but mounting it Brett's way was done as well I think........can someone confirm or deny this? I'm guessing and would like to know...............Confused

Mine is mounted correctly, as they were in a M38.  MB/GPW were the other way, but correct for that platform.

(lol) I know SP.  Used to get them placed on tray in the mess hall on Fri. at 1700 hrs.  Line up at O dark thirty Mon. morning for stabbing with the big bore needle.  I thnk it was SOP with the fifty mile pass. Some of those guys were married and their wifes had arrived for the weekend.  No matter, the went too.

Bensinger sells the proper bracket for mounting, although the OPs "Bubba" mount has appeal. Clap
