this is more then i will spend on one but i do know of an older version of this one for much much less. could the willys run it? also speed wise does anyone have the chart for speed at the gear box?

Rule of thumb is 2 hp. Is needed perkilowatt.

You should be able to find the gearing speeds here.
Willys made the center PTO to run a genny or an air compressor. Each of the pages are "clickable"

thanks i have been looking, the craigslist in my area has a few generator trailers for sale that are pto powered. I'm thinking about setting up my 2a to run this so i can have some portable juice up north, then i can weld on the go no problem.

Lincoln used to make a "Tractapack" PTO driven welder/generator....I use done years ago and it was great, 200 amp and a good 5kva as well....they either came as a stand alone unit that you could mount on a 3pt linkage or trailer mounted with a longer PTO shaft...

I'd like to get one to use behind my Jeep.

I'm thinking the 240 1 phase could power my cabin in an outage but also could run my garage tools both in the garage and possibly in the woods if need be.

Schimmmmmmmms, you will also need a governor to compensate for the load.

Very true! Constant speed is critical, it has to maintain 60hz.
When you get it all set up, let us know how it works!
