I like it, not keen on the alternator but the rest appears to be well done, the list pretty much reads like what I have done to mine......food for thought re: the value.

Is this original?, yes/no, does a respray make it not original?

I guess we all have to find ones that were purchased and then parked in a shed and forgotten aboutLOLLOL

If only it happened more often.

I thought it looked good too, a lot of time, work, and money went into making it look original and look good. Why, oh why, would you put that much effort into something, even to the point of warning potential buyers about the ride, handling, and speed characteristics, then put something so glaringly wrong on it as an alternator? Confused
The next thing that jumped out at me was the blue shocks. Why spend, again, all that time and money and effort to detail the suspension and undercarriage, then leave the shocks blue?
And then, there's the screen door spring on the emergency brake......LOL

Don't get me wrong, I've got an alternator on my CJ3B, but it's a beater, not a restoration or a show car. I guess it works as good as the generators on any of the rest of my jeepsWink.

I've got a good friend in the antique tractor hobby, he says his pet peeves are alternators and chrome exhaust stacks. Clap     BW
It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Just sat down and went through all the photos, nice detail in most places and I'd be more than happy with it.

Bruce W, agree totally, the shocks are shockingLOL.

I see some of the chassis rivets are actually dome head cap screws.....I couldn't do that and made myself some new rivets and hot riveted them in.

Overall its very nice.......

My friends have asked me what I will do with mine when its finished, my reply, take a heap of photos to show the finished product  and then drive down a gravel road and give it a heap of stone chips, throw the dog and chainsaw on the back, shoot a deer and throw that in the back as well and then its broken inBig smileBig smile

I intend to use it as exactly as it was intended to be used by its designers.....

This gentleman did an exceptionally good job on this Willys. One of the nicer restorations I've seen.

I would only knock off a couple points for the alternator.  I'm hoping he plans on painting the new shocks, but hasn't gotten around to it yet.Smile

Upon further review, I don't think he has the right air cleaner either.  Still, a very nice '46.

Tim

Beautiful CJ! My only knock on it, besides what's been mentioned, is that it should be a column shift. They ended at serial # 38221.
I'd take it though! Clap
