Hey Mike, I was just out your way last week doing a little cross country and snowshoeing up near Tennessee Pass. Still a fair amount of snow. We were staying in a cabin around Twin Lakes. Wish I had your address I would have liked to stop by. Looking forward to seeing you all in September. George

Hey George, All you need to do is look at last year's FCT thread and the address and directions are there. Looking forward to seeing you in September! Yes we have a bit of snow left in the high country. Here's a pic of my new fiancé, Nancy, on my tracked ATV at 13.000 feet elevation in the mountains above St. Elmo.

Warned??? What ever do you mean?? Warned about the Jeep addiction?? I'll have you know, she owned 3 Jeeps before she ever met me. New ones, but Jeeps none the less. Warned about living with a wingnut high up in the mountains? Well, she loves the mountains, and I think that I'm beginning to grow on her too. Warned that I'll spend half my life out in the shop? Last time I worked on a machine out there, she was there handing me tools. Warned that I'm a gruff old fart? We haven't taken a photo yet where she wasn't smiling. As an experienced Kindergarten teacher I think she has me figured out. Warned that I get crazy ideas? She seems to laugh a lot when I mention them. I guess I'm at least entertaining.

Yup. 3 of them in fact. And 3 brothers with big gun collections so I'm being sure to be nice to her. But all 3 sisters are attached. She's got some single friends though...........

That tracked ATV is awesome! Oh yes and congratulations.......... If I knew my son was going to stay in Colorado for good I might consider moving to the banana belt! I think thats what the locals in Salida say!

I hope so, Joe Friday! I've always loved Mike, I just hate to see a good woman taken in by all that ... uh ... um ...charm! Guess I shouldn't pick on him if I want my jeep running soon! Kate, Yes it could go on the Black Hills ride, IF YOU GET IT LICENSED!! I can get the mechanicals done but you need to take care of the legals. And Nancy said she's not getting pushed over the edge, she's running full speed and leaping over the edge. And she's not falling for me either as she goes over the edge. With all my schmoozing I've got her drifting to the heavens as I promise her the moon and the stars. I didn't tell her the stars will be on Army Jeeps, and we won't talk about the moon in mixed company.  |

We've got a new ride for this year that I've wanted to take folks on for some time. It's a trip up to North Fork Reservoir and Billings Lake. Beautiful high alpine lakes with good fishing. Here's a photo of my buddy Sam with his early morning catch. As part of a project that we worked on two years ago, we camped at North Fork Reservoir and worked on some trails up near Billings Lake. Sam would get up early to see what he could catch for breakfast. These fish did not last long with our hungry crew.
