A friend of mine who knows my interest in Willys sent me a picture of four CJ2A's sitting in Florence, AZ with For Sale signs looking like a used car lot. Great picture and something of a sight to see I thought. Not in my skill set to post pictures but I can email the picture. If someone out there would PM me an email address, I would like to share this picture and have you post it to the forum. Don Parrish |

Another member has sent me an email address. Thanks to those who replied. The picture should be on the forum soon. Note: There is no information as to seller or prices. All I know is the picture was taken in Florence, AZ three or four weeks ago.

This is fun. The next one will be...what's a CH-47? This will all come together shortly.

He, his stick buddy, or Peter-P, as we called them, and the crew chief are caretakers of a flying hydraulic pump.
OH = Observation Helicopter, -6A = model 6A. LOH (or Light Observation Helicopter) At the time, manufactured by Hughes Helicopters. OH-6 Driver = VIP, Air Taxi (Flying Jeep Driver ), Ash & Trash. LOH Driver = Worked with Field Artillery. Did all of the above with the added task of forward observation for firing accuracy. Until the ARVN firebase 15 clicks northeast decides to enter the fray and it starts raining 105's right where you and the Full Bird (05) are in a near out-of-ground-effect hover at 1700' watching the fire mission impact zone. Scout Pilot = 19 year-old idiot WO-1 piloting his bird, in the company of a like minded and nearly equally aged CW2 in his bird, doing low-level (Grass-in-the-skid-plates-stupid) stuff in OH-6A's. Like intentionally goading the indians, drawing them out into the open to shoot back at them so the gunships (AH-1Gs) loitering at 2000'AGL can roll in and do their job. Overheard radio traffic. (Guns-1-6 - Cobra Pilot, to Sandy - A-1E Skyraider Pilot) Sandy: "Uh, Guns-1-6, Guns-1-6. This is Sandy. Over..." Guns-1-6: "Sandy! Good to hear ya buddy. Over." Sandy: "Uh, Guns-1-6. I'm inbound your pos with a friend. We're looking' to light something' up. Watcha got? Over" Guns-1-6: "Uh Sandy we've got some hostiles dug in to a couple of bunkers in hooches. (Long pause then a muttered epithet.) Uh, Sandy, Can ya handle that? Over." Sandy: "Roger that Guns-1-6. Uh, what am I looking for? Over." Guns-1-6: "Uhhh. Wait one!" Guns-1-6: "Uh, Sandy. Do you see the column of smoke at your two o'clock? Over" Sandy: "Uhhhhh, roger that Guns. Smoke in sight. Over." Guns-1-6: "Sandy. That's your target. Aim on the burning LOH. Over" |
