Jeff, I'll bet your camera got mud on it. I don't feel bad about the mud at the BHR anymore. LOL, John

Cross posted from Hainesgarage to get some photos up fast.
That was a great trip! The trails were perfectly suited to the little flatfender scamps. The weather was unbeatable and the companionship was made it feel like a family vacation. Thank you Bruce for hosting this event. OK, enough chitchat. Where's the photos?! Finished my load-out Friday morning. Let's GO! Rudycon and the studeawillys at Ted's Place (last chance for gas and stuff.) Bruce at basecamp Basecamp The rudyboyz at basecamp Colorado sky and trail Grumpy shows us how to negotiate tight colorado trails Oilleaker, Carol and Bugsy enjoying the views along the trail Bruce gets inspired Sunday morning at this valley view (with LTE cellular service!) The valley Lifted up my windshield to find this mirror image willys logo in the dust on the hood. Beetle kill was heavy in this area. Never know what you'll find in the bottom of the outhouse! Great patina on this old cabin. The wild strawberries around here were delicious! bugsy parked at the old cabin What can I say, I've got a thing for outhouses. We ran out of trail but the turn-around area was beautiful. Studeawillys on turn-around safari Bruce turned around in the aspens studeawillys at the end of the trail turn-around too. Just beautiful. And there was a babbling brook! Bruce turns Uncle Linden around. crossing a meadow A knight's Axe and oil leaker's oil lantern back at basecamp Edited by stude-a-willys - 29 July 2015 at 6:33pm |

Jeff:
Thanks for getting those images up. Great shots of Bugsy in the water, Grumpy's rig looking so perfect in the grass, Uncle Linden in the beetlekill, and I swear Split Personality looks pleased with the mud splashed all the way up over the headlight!

Cool shots! I want to go back---------Please? Bugsey looks like a wild Jeep in the grass. If you like Jeeps, driving them is the bomb! I feel a band of brothers here. I look forward to more with my friends and Jeep Heros. I think Dillon MT. is next. There is a MVPA meet at the local Museum / RV park labor day weekend. And----------guess what? I worked there for the Forest Service for 2 summers. Very fond memories. Jpet is at 13000 feet right now. I wish I was with him too! Can't do it all. Let's go jeeping my friends! Oilleaker 1 signing off.

I'm sad that I missed this ride, but glad you all had a great time. We will be there next year. I won't have work to mess with my recreation schedule. Great photos! Good times!

Thanks for posting the pic's, guys, they're priceless! Sharing some of my favorite trails and places with you all is a priceless experience as well. I'm ready for more, too! Can't wait 'till September.
Jeff asked, "Can we do a run on pavement some time???" I've been kicking around the idea of a run up Trail Ridge Road or Pikes Peak, what do y'all think? A few of us went to Estes Park a few years ago, we had a good time. Mike, we definitely missed you an' the Blue Mule, and I can't wait to meet Nancy. I would really like to do more runs, and I, too will have more time (but less money) next year. Thanks to all who came, and for now, we'll figure on the same place, about the same time, for next year! BW

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

Bruce,
The old dirt Fall River Road is now reopened (damaged in the floods) one way up to the Trail Ridge visitor center, then back down on pavement. It would be a nice but dusty drive. We do it on bicycles often. |
