Serial Number 452GBI31027 ?

   A new acquaintance says he has a 1942 Willys Jeep and asked me about the numbers from a zinc tag he took off the firewall. I have seen the tag and it does say "Serial Number 452GBI 31027” with no prefix such as MB or CJ. Please advise.
