Hi...I bought this front end loader for a willys jeep....On the tag it
reads Jeep-a-Loader. Has anyone ever seen one of
these? I have looked for info on the company and cannot
find anything. I have even written to the historical
society and they came up empty handed. Any info would be
appreciated.

The WO Equipment Book shows a couple of different brand loaders, (Mahl, and Baldwin brands). But yours is not listed. Looking at the bucket, one of the pictures shows a similar bucket and calls it a "manure fork". Amazing, the things that were made for these little machines. One of the two pictured in my book shows a hydraulically operated overload wheels that fit under the front loader frame directly behind the bucket. Minneapolis must have been a "hotbed" of Jeep accessories, the Mahl Equipment Company was also there (different address).

makes for a nice brush guard and I guess you don't need the front AG weight with that!

I'd hate to see you pulling up behind me in traffic! Especially if it has the 9" brakes still

OK, I'm curious, will the loader frame really go all the way up to the top of that post in the middle??

That's really cool! and kinda scary at the same time, how's it work? If you mounted a Jeep-a-Trench on the rear you'd have one cool Jeep-a-Saurus

It's cool, but I wonder what sort of stress that thing puts on the frame. I know that the Jeep-a-Trench is heavy enough that it can compromise the integrity of the rear part of the frame.

That is indeed a manure bucket.
You wouldn't want to lift anything real heavy in that bucket without a substantial counter-weight on the rear of the jeep. I wouldn't raise the bucket all the way up unless sitting on level ground either. Looks cool though! Larry |

The one that is pictured in the equipment book has the rear pivot for the bucket behind the rear axle with the side arms of the front bucket running down the sides of the Jeep.

I have an original brochure on one of these loaders. I will check tomorrow and get back to you here. If it is the same, I could copy it and send you a copy.

I have some pictures from an auction at Ames Iowa of a different loader for a jeep. Looked homemade but if I remember right, it was also manufactured in Minneapolis. Austion was from a former willys dealer. Email me if you want pictures.

My father owned a Jeep-a-loader. It had a serial #1001 I think. He bought it new. I would need to look up pics. We sold it when my mother passed about 2006. I just came across a magazine picture my father saved. It shows a willys jeep with front end loader mounted.
I believe a man from Indiana bought it for $150 from us, we had no idea what it's value might be so that was probably a steal!
