Grampa's Jeep met up with some friends in Ouray Colorado and ran a few of the famous trails there.
Here is Grampa's Jeep going up the left side of the famous obstacle on Poughkeepsie Gulch called The Wall

Here's jpet and Bam Bam going up the more difficult line on the far right.

Hopefully I'll have some more pictures and video of this trip in coming days.

Brett,
This is a different group. Our schedules didn't match up with the other bunch.

Here's Grampa's Jeep going up the right side line on The Wall at Poughkeepsie Gulch. We got a tiny bit of wheel lift.

I will post some pictures and video soon. It was great riding the trails with Stan, Jeff, Ward, Dennis, Alice, Kayley and Mike. We are still making our way home, currently in Colorado Springs.

Very cool...thanks for posting!

I remember going over Black Bear as a young fellow in my Dad's Jeep...which is mine now. It was a fun ride with 5 people and a dog in a CJ2A....kind of like the CW McCall song...Tongue

Day 3. Back to Black Bear and Imogene:

... looking at Black Bear from Imogene:

Lookout Rock on Imogene:

The Dmac Attack was not there Monday, we did Black Bear Pass from Ouray to Telluride and the Imogene Pass back to Ouray. The same as we did Monday. This was the third time I had done these trails and the first time I did them when the sky was not over cast. It was a bright sunny day and the colors jumped out. The summit of Imogene was very colorful. Of all the trails I have done these two trails in combination are my absolute favorite. It takes about 8 hours to do both in the same day. This includes some stops and lunch. Black Bear Pass is most famous for the steps, adios curve and the right switchbacks down to Bridal Veil Falls, but that is just a short section of the pass. I think my favorite part of the trail is just past the summit where there is a shelf road that leads to the past some lakes. It is simply awesome. There are also all kinds of flowers before the summit and before the steps. Columbines, Indian paint brush and Daisys. It's all very beautiful.   ...... more
