I had a nice drive myself today.  How was the trailer.  I have thought about trying to find one myself.

Low,

What made you use the old military socket for the pig tail? Do you have some evidence that is how they came? I have not been able to find any info on that. I wired mine in where it crosses over the frame, and comes out at the draw bar. I just ASSUMED that is how they would have done it.

Everybody that looks at the 2015 calendar asks me why we used mine again...LOL if you paint the wheels on the Bantam red, we'd be complete twins.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill, I am about to do a write up with pictures for Art's website......

At the Spring Reunion I had spoken in detail to a gent and his wife (I hate that I never wrote their names down), from the Butler Pa area, and he informed me that he had several Bantam trailers, one a very early original.

He explained to me that the end on the wiring was a Cole-Hersee 2-pin that mated to another end wired into the Jeep's rear harness....

I found several "period correct" C-H 2-pin matching plugs on eBay, but opted for a 4-pin that came with a nicer looking Jeep end recepticle that included a weather cover....

After discussing with Jerry (Father-in-law), i decided to make another cover for the rear panel, and install the Jeep end recepticle in it. We both feel ity makes for a cleaner finished look....

I removed the existing wires from the NACO, inserted them into 2 separate "1 into 2" bakelite connectors, thus running a new pair of wires to the NACO, and the other set up to the trailer recepticle....

Again I wish that I could remember their names, and had wrote them down....The gent offered to email me pics of the wiring, and his wife wrote down my email address, but I have never received that email...

All of the trailer wiring came from Rhode Island Wiring...

Low,

Thanks for the info. Very, very interesting.

Bill Oakes had a very original Bantam that still had the original harness on it. He sent it to Joe Hall to reproduce. That is what my harness was based on. There is no way it would be long enough to reach that receptacle. Was there an intermediate piece?

Thanks,
Bill
