RIP, Allen.  I'm sure he's picking grapes and driving like a teenager somewhere in heaven's version of rural Iowa.

.....Good job Art... Clap

Just as an additional thought to this post, Phyl got a Christmas card from Barb this year.

She wanted to let us know all is well and that 'Lefty' and 'Mule' are being looked after and aren't being put out to pasture so to speak (my words, not hers)

Just thought everyone would want to know.

Allen was one of those guys who could walk up to a perfect stranger and in a few minutes they would be talking like old friends. I had the pleasure of visiting him and Barb a few times at their Iowa Farm. It didn't matter what topic was brought up, WFB was interested and would discuss. He was an avid winemaker with the grapes on his farm, a musician, and a woodman too. His jeeps were tools, and everyone that visited had to go for a ride in Mule if he had anything to do with it.

Yes, Nate you would have liked him. And he would have been interested in all your projects. He had an Oliver he used on the farm for things the jeeps couldn't do, and still had an old N ford he was going to get to some day.

Thanks for sharing about Barb, Chad. I saw her at the reunion right after Allen passed and it was just too hard for me to talk to her. Hopefully she is back on her feet now and forging on. Allen left behind a very good woman and some fine adult children too.

RIP Ole buddy.

to many jeeps, parts, and accessories to list here, but apparently enough to keep me in trouble with my wife.
