Hi all,

I just got a call from Mary. Sam Cottrell, "samcj2a", passed away Friday morning at 6 am. For those who didn't know he has been battling ALS for about 2 years. He has been a good friend to the Willys community, and to thecj2apage.

His funeral will be held at Christ Crossman United Methodist. 384 St Washington 22046, Saturday the 28th at 11:00

Sure am gonna miss you Sam. Thanks for being my friend, thanks for everything you've done for me and thanks for the memories.

I met Sam at the Willys Jeep Gathering in Maryland several years ago. He was a really nice guy and a great representative for the Jeep community. It was an honor to have known him. You will be missed, Sam.

I never met Sam in person but did have the honor to converse with him on this forum. He was an honorable man, a man that I had much respect for, a man I considered my friend. He will be missed. RIP Sam

This is heartbreaking.

I roomed with Sam at the last Color Tour he attended.
I could fill 20 pages here with all the really neat things we discussed ranging from Career to Family to Jeeps. (and of course metal fuel bowls)

Sam was a great man and has had a profound affect on my life.

There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled.

I wish Mary and the rest of his family peace and tranquility.

He will be in my prayers.

Who could forget Ole Red?
Hate to see it empty.
Agree with everyone here, Sam was a great guy and he will surely be missed; glad I got the chance to know him.
Our prayers are with Mary and the family during this time.
