Hey all, new to the forum, and truthfully here to ask questions regarding a T3C I found:

Found a rusted out T3C on Craigs. The seller is taking offers, but I have no idea what these things are worth. He is within 15 minutes of my house, which is a plus.

What do you think I should offer him?

I am going to look at it tomorrow.

Thanks!

I saw this too. Its pretty rough, the front tailgate is a modification and I did not see a data plate. I also can't tell if the wheels are correct. The good is it looks like the majority of the rare parts are all there as in the hitch coupler with its knob and the safety chains and early hooks. I would try to go under $300 as far as you can negotiate it for.

Art, I would tend to lean towards this being an early '46....  "V" notches in the front rails, holes in the rear spring hanger.......

if the frame is solid, an MD tub could revive the old girl....

Yes, I agree on early 46. V notch, early hooks on safety chains, early shackles, and the bigger gussets in the front frame corners.
Also just notice rivet bucking access hole in the rear spring mount meaning left over Military T3 surplus parts. I've seen these as early as sn 2524 and as late as 4409 which I once owned.

Look for rust out where the tongue rails meet the frame cross member and front spring mounts especially.
