Hey Gale.. would you be able to have your bolt and nut place sell me a pair of hinges? The local guys here stopped stocking them and they don't want to order the minimum.. Edited by 48cj2a - 18 July 2009 at 1:35am |

Bill, funny you should ask, I'm going to be picking up a pair for Art, I can get a pair for you as well, I'm also going to stop at Fastenal and see if I can match theirs to the ones I found at Tacoma Screw (they are an exact match in all dimensions). If they have them, I'll post up the number, they're a national chain so that would make them available almost anywhere. Looks like I just got into the hinge business. I'll PM you when I have more info.

For anyone who's interested in replacing worn or broken tailgate hinges. I got mine at a local place called Tacoma Screw, (I checked Fastenal and they didn't carry anything similar) You can contact them at http://www.tacomascrew.com and the part number is 593-404, description Welding Hinge 1950-3-1/2, I got them at my old price for some reason, but they've gone up a bit (not sure by how much) the old price was $3.78 ea. One of the leaves has to be cut narrower (where it welds on to the tailgate) but the other leaf, knuckles and length are the same as the originals (or in my case original-singular) that was on my trailer..
