The Great Willys Picnic, Show and Swap Meet

Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 9 am - 4 pm at the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad located in Kempton, Pennsylvania

It's time to plan for the 16th annual Great Willys Picnic, Car Show and Swap Meet. All vehicles are welcome: stock, modified, projects, CJs, Wagons, Trucks, Jeepsters, Military, Cars and even GPWs! Every pre-1970 Willys vehicle is eligible to win door prizes. This show has grown into the largest Northeast Willys event. Over 67 vehicles and hundreds of enthusiasts were present at last year's picnic. There is plenty of space for selling your spare parts in the swap meet area. Bring your Willys memorabilia and interesting parts for show and tell. Be sure to arrive early because at 3:00 PM the door prize winners are announced and awarded. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food at the refreshment stand.

The Picnic will be held on the grounds of the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad http://www.kemptontrain.com located in the scenic village of Kempton, Pennsylvania. This is a great setting to display our classic Willys vehicles, as well as entertainment for the entire family. Also on-site is the
Schuykill & Lehigh Model Railroad Club's HO model train display.

As always the Willys Picnic, Show and Swap is free. Plan to take the optional train ride for a very reasonable fee. Click here for directions to the RR http://www.kemptontrain.com/directions/

It was worth the trip last year, and the trip itself was great.
A nice day for a ride in the country.
If I go this year, I'm bringing all of my Jeep.

I'm hoping to make it this year too. I know i keep saying that, but it looks like a lot of good calendar material shows up.

I plan on attending with 3 of my jeeps.
I have two buddies who are going to drive with me so we will have a caravan, or a jeepavan!
Anyone else interested in driving some back roads from central jersey to Kempton just let me know. It will make a fun day that much better!

I'm planning on having good weather the day of the show. If the forecast calls for rain you can just ignore it and come out to the show. Smile

I'll be trekking south 520 miles from Maine to be in the middle of the greatest one day Willys event there is on the planet.  Seth and Bob W go all out to provide us Willys Nuts a Fix for our Fever.  Stock, Modified, Original, Projects, Restored, and especially for me, Willys Special Equipment galore, this is the most fun allowed all packed into 6-7 hours AND FREE.  Bring your Willys lore, be it ready or not, maybe just some spare stuff to help somebody else, maybe just share stories, knowledge and history, and DO BRING the KIDS. Just figure a way to be there.

Car shows are finally in full swing. I just had my CJ-3A out to a show on Saturday. Make plans to attend the best NE show with your Jeep, The Great Willys Picnic.

I have my room booked and will be at Seth's Sat. for the kick off get together if he will have me again! I hope Bob W. can share some stories about the Midwest Reunion that unfortunately I can't attend this year. I can't wait to Share WILLYS lore with the gent from Smithfield, Maine & sure hope Bill Norris can make it too this year!

I have a pretty good collection of parts to market
Maybe we should start a "WILLYS Picnic Wish List" so we can bring the WILLYS parts that folks really want.
