the loops held the hard or soft top down. they were also used to strap down any randown items as the newer jeeps do. as far as i have found out the outside (tailgate) loops were body color painted. the loops on the inside and tub rails were black. i could be wrong. if i am i hope someone tell me befor i paint them.
