ID tag location

I have what appears to be a 3A but there was a factory ID plate located behind the passenger seat on the front face of the wheel well. The hole pattern is the same as the large plate on the firewall and is in the vertical direction ie: the long axis of the plate is in the vertical. What went there or what type of tub do I have? Any help? Thanks, Robert
