You have made great progress! very nice.  What did you use for springs?  Lift?

The springs are Crown 8 leaf, no lift. However, the new springs raised the front about 1.5 inches.

I don't have any problem with parking over cardboard, and adding oil everytime I drive.

This is from sitting overnight after driving 25 miles or so yesterday...

The rear main seal is going to need attention soon.

Can a rear main be replaced with engine still installed? I'm just wondering? What's your plan of attack?

I'm not sure. I hope it can be installed without pulling the engine, but I need to look into it. If I do anything it will wait until this fall. I really enjoy driving this thing.

If I need to pull the engine, I might as well do a full rebuild at that point... I look forward to doing that someday, but for now I just want to drive!

I started a thread a few weeks ago, Oil Leak, dealing with the same problem and leaking about the same amount of oil. I replaced the main seal without removing the engine and guess what; same leak. I read somewhere on here that the only way to effectively replace the main seal is to pull the engine and crank. So that's what I'll do at some point. For now, I'm saving cardboard.

Well, I fully intended to do a few things this winter.

I have all the parts.

I was going to run some new copper nickle fuel line from the tank to the pump.

I have a significant exhaust leak between the intake and exhaust manifold, so I was going to take the whole manifold off, clean it up, and replace the heat riser butterfly.

I have a small gas leak around the carburetor float bowl, so I was going to take some time and do a full carburetor rebuild. I have the full kit from Peter DeBella and I was looking forward to taking some time and following all of Scout Pilots great videos and write-ups.

None of that got done.

Now it's spring and the Good Dog continues to fire right up and run great (leaks and all).

I just can't resist taking it out and driving around the property.

I know I need to get her back in the shop, but it's so hard to take her out of commission again...

I always have the same feelings. If it's still moving, I hate to take it down.
I'm in the middle of putting mine back together after pulling the transmission to fix a popping out of 2nd issue. Everything worked fine except for that. It was painful to put it on the jack stands.
I love The Good Dog!

What a beautiful day. I am starting the carb rebuild this week, so today I spent a little time goofing off on the trails out back.

Thanks I like it. I ain’t seen ground that dry around here for about 8 months. It’s on its way though. Should get a month or so around August.

I saw your posts about stumbling off idle. While I agree that the carb is the most likely culprit, I found that dialing in a bit more timing advance was what licked it. Here I was thinking that it was normal to have to give the gas pedal a couple shots pullin away from a stop.
