I finished building my rear body mounts today. I’ll get them attached to the tub soon. Just need to confirm the positions.

Thanks everyone for the kind words of encouragement.
It is appreciated.

I took a break from the build so I could rebuild my sandblasting cabinet. I bought it used so already assembled. When I use it there is lots of dust exiting the seams that I DO NOT want to breath in.  I took it apart and sealed all the joints with silicone. It was a huge pain but what a difference. I also replaced the course crushed glass with fine that I picked up at the Tractor Supply Company. What a difference. It works great and no dust for me to breath in.

My friend told me that it was not worth the time but it makes a difference to me. I’m just stubborn that way.

That really is some quality work on those brackets. I was in the steel service center business for close to 30 years. I’ve seen much lower quality work than that shipped out.

Looks great!

I got some spot welding done on the tub today. It’s not as easy as it looks but I think I got the hang of it. I also attached the body mounts but I’m not super happy with the positioning of the two outer ones relative to the tail lights, so I may remake them a little differently and reinstall. Easy fix. The inner mounts are great however. Very happy with those two.

I'm definitely impressed with the great work you're doing.  But what I'd really like to see , is diagrams of all those jigs and things you've built to make the job easier.  You really have the "Work smarter, not harder" down pat! Clap
I wish people would quit hittin' me on the head. MQ

Thanks Brian,

I don’t really have any jigs. I am just making it up as I go along. The brackets were made by hammering one side over in a vise then putting an oak spacer in to get the right width before bending over the other side.

I made 2 new mounts that are wider to span the light bracket. I also used thicker 14 gauge steel so it should be strong without the need for the bend in the back.

Hopefully I got it right this time and this is the last set I’ll have to make. It’s not a big deal, they don’t take much time, I just want to move forward.
