Hi: Just picked up a 1949 Bantam civilian trailer and would like to know where to look for the frame serial number. I was told to look under the left front spring hanger, is this true. Thanks
Mike

Mike,
If it is indeed a '49 you may be out of luck for any numbers on the frame.  Some of the early trailers (mil surplus) had ACM numbers stamped under one of the spring hangers but once that stock was used up, the only identification that I know of was the Data Plate on the front.

Here's a lot of info to help:

Rus: Thanks for your reply, it was sold as a 49 but I don't know for sure if it's a 49 or newer. There is no data plate either, the title and trailer are a mystery.
