Let me add to this thread in saying that, even though there are several indicators between photographs and the actual vehicle to raise suspicion that this might be the Davis Jeep, I have seen a couple of photographs that might say otherwise. My concern is that we are looking at internet photos, and when you start zooming in or out, you actually reduce clarity. So for now, I will only say that much more investigation is needed, but I still stand by the few clues that I have seen to this point. If it isn't the Davis jeep, it certainly spent time at Cesor Farms...... The saga continues.....

Mike, I'm 100% sure it was at CESOR, and it's certainly very plausible it was the Davis Jeep. Since a past long term owner was in Brighton, and there was a Willys Factory training center 5 miles South of Brighton, it is also likely it was deployed there for a while and certain accessories may have been changed.
I still believe it is the Davis Jeep, and will try to dig up photos for you. PS - the CJ2A towtruck with plow that was used at the training center to plow the snow off the ice skating rink is most likely still in Howell where I found it 25 years ago. Edited by Joe Friday - 28 June 2019 at 10:25pm |

That's funny, my Gray Mule has the same dents? Maybe this would raise suspicion that that might be the Davis 1948 WILLYS! LOL |

Just about have all mechanicals freshened up, and ready for reinstallation. Considering the drivetrain only has 24K original miles, 20K+ are field work miles. When #33 left Cesor farms, it had a cane shift transmission installed, I elected to rebuild a column shift case, but will be using the cane shifter for now.
The goal here is preservation, not restoration.. Edited by lowenuf - 02 Aug. 2019 at 3:57pm |
