Took my CJ5 to Cape Lookout National Seashore, part  of North Carolina's Outer Banks for a little beach jeeping and fishing. This was sunrise for Saturday morning.

Nice photo, I was not aware you could still drive on a beach on the east coast

There are several national parks and state recreation areas here in NC  that still allow driving a 4x4 on the beach. It is really great to have a mile or more of beach to yourself.

You can at Assateaque/Chincoteaque VA too. Way back in 1969 I drove a rented dune buggy on the beach from Virginia Beach to NC. You could drive an hour and not see a single person or vehicle.

We were at the exact same spot back in July......although in a boring Dodge Ram. That place is magical!! Love the Outer Banks.

Nice shot of the jeep in the early morning. Looks like a good time in both pictures I would be shot on the spot and my jeep shredded if I did that in California.

Yep! Absolutely NOWHERE to do that anywhere in SO.CAL or even central Cal. MAYBE up near Pismo Beach, Maybe.

Anywhere you go, whenever you go, there is just a CRUSH of people here in CA ruining the whole point of trying to go wherever it is.

I was stationed at the Air Force base in El Segundo in the late 1980s.  So many people in town, but I could go up in the San Gabriel Mtns and be all alone.  I marveled at that.

"Dog beach" in Port Orford is vehicle-friendly.

I go all the time to the desert or mountains and see very few vehicles. I just enjoyed the sight of the cj
alone on the beach enjoying the solitude of the morning and that is what drove my response above. He goes on and mentions of having a mile of the beach to himself. For me to experience that I'm driving 100 miles min for the same experience. I would love to drive down the beach in my home town, but thats not happening. I'm sure there are locations, but not in my area. I guess i'm jealousCry
