Gentlemen:

Is a hydraulic clutch upgrade worth the expense and effort? My jeep is an M-38 and I am putting a Buick 231 V-67 in it and just wondering if a hydraulic clutch is worth the expense and effort.

Thanks,

Jordan

I did this and found it worked great and found it easier to maintain.
Do you already have swing pedals?
I used a reverse type slave clyd.

No. I'd have to install the swing pedals. Advance Adapters has a swing pedal kit.   I was thinking of just going with their chain clutch drive assembly instead of hydraulic and keeping the pedals on the floor.

the AA kit, I THINK, uses the old fashion "all in one unit",  master/clutch cyldinder set up used in Chevy/GMC trucks. I used this type of set up  waaaay back in the mid/late '60's.  NOT a AA kit though. Not a real good system for today's safety standards.  M/C part only gives a single resivor istead of a dual resivor which is much safer.   You can get lots of good input here or on the internet.  Summit, jegs, ETC have a lot of good stuff to do the job. Later CJ parts work well.  Look up past posts in this topic.

In later conversions, I used pedal assembly from  Jeepster Commandos. Switched the clutch pedal from cable to hydrualic and used  reverse slave cyld.

The chian convert is good as well, just more wear and tear on parts and more clutter.

Go chain or 1 piece cable.
Spare yourself the grief of hydraulic.
