Thank you for that feedback.  The reason I was wondering is because I had a similar issue last year trying to remove one of the  wheel/hubs from my garden tractor axle.  The other hub had come off no problem. After all else failed i ended up using a sledge on the end of the axle.  The inside end of the axle
ended right alongside a short 3/4" diameter hardened steel perpendicular shaft (so oriented like a T).  The other wheel shaft's inner end was right on the other side of the short shaft.  My last swing sent the axle into the differential to some degree where it snapped the short shaft in half which then then drove the other wheel shaft sailing right out of the differential including shedding its dual snap rings that were supposed to stop it from being able to pull out of the differential.

So was/am a little worried about pounding on the end of the puller to get the CJ2A's rear hub/drum off.
