I'm wondering if anyone here has installed a cj-5 bestop bikini top on their cj2. I was told the top is a little wider but couldn't say for sure how much also I would have to remove the turn snaps on the windshield and get the proper channel. ThanksSmile

I bought a late model bikini off craigslist and cut it down. It was pretty easy. Measure twice, cut once Wink

I just put a half cab on, so I took the channel off. But here it is. I sewed the material over so I could slip 1/4" tubing inside it. Then it slips into the channel and locks in place.

I don't know if you have an original style top, but if you do, I think you could probably leave your turn snaps in place and just drill holes in the aluminum flange for the bolt rope channel and use the snaps to attach it to the windshield frame.

Somewhere on the web I found this bikini top dimensional drawing.  Maybe it will be helpful.  I didn't really use it on mine.  I just took measurements off my jeep and modified the top I had to fit.

Thanks for your input. I bought a bestop bikini top (52507-01), I'm going to modify that by using eyelets (777005) and washers (777010) I bought from Sailrite that way I will be able to use the original snaps. I'll make a bow out of 1 inch square tubing. Happy Thanksgiving
