I don't like being cold. Cold and wet is the worst. But when it is warm, and the rain is soft, jeeping out in it can be a lot of fun. For one thing, most people stay at home. So you get more trail to yourself. Then there is the simple beauty of it. There is something special being out on a warm summer day, in the rain. Everything looks and smells different.

To heck with bright sunshine!! All you need is a bikini top (or not!).

Some of my best jeep memories are fishing with my Dad back in Maine when I was a kid. It rained often enough that you just went anyway.  He never complained about the weather, let alone comment on it. So I never learned the habit of mentioning something that was, literally, beyond our control.

Go jeeping!

My step son adding memories for later

I agree totally with this sentiment! I could not have said it better.

Growing up in western Oregon, I learned to just live with the rain. I often said that if you do not ride motorcycles in the rain, you do not ride. The same goes for a lot of things. Playing baseball, walking trails, rock climbing, driving dune buggies, & "Jeeping" come to mind.

Now that I live in the Colorado high desert, I wait a couple of hours, at most, & the rain is gone. I went from living in an area that gets 80-120" of rain a year to one where we get 8" of rain. It is quite a difference.

I am glad that the two of you got to go "Jeeping".

As a native of the PNW, like Capt. said, if you can't tolerate rain you don't get to do much. I've never lived anywhere else, so it's just part of the landscape and you just adapt, overcome, and have fun. The alternative is what? stay home and look out the window? No thanks.

I don't like the cold either; not sure how you east coasters do it! We typically don't get warm, summer rains- just cold winter rain- for quite some time.

When I got divorced the first time, my ex got the Oldsmobile 442 and I got the '47 CJ2A that my Dad gave me when I graduated High School.

The CJ2A was my only vehicle. It had a soft top, but when it rained, it leaked in every little opening and I usually got soaked.  It had no heater either.  I did not have the finances to buy a car at the time so that was my only ride.

I loved my CJ2A so much, I just sucked it up and drove it, rain or shine.  After about a year, I decided I really needed a car to get back into the serious dating scene since I couldn't take any very long trips in the 2A.  I sold the Jeep and bought a Chevy Vega.

12 years later, married my third wife and "we" bought a '46 CJ2A.  That was 1983.  Still have the wife AND the '46, living happily ever after (so far LOL)

Yep.  1973 Vega.

I did win a local drag strip race day event with it.  All day handicap based on fastest ET you ran in the morning.

Stock 4cyl engine with HEADERS.  Won $300.00!

OP doesn't like cold - lives in CO!  Go figure. LOL.  Cold is very relative.  Here in So. Cal.  its no jeeping below 75 degrees! (so not much of a problem).
