Hello. My name is Cesar, and I live in the Black Hills. Big smile New to the wonderful world of the CJ-2A. Got mine a month ago and have been lurking here for a bit. I do follow the CJ-2A on Facebook. I picked up a '46 in need of some major TLC. First order of business is the transmission and transfer case. Filled with water, and rust chunks. Eventually I'd like to get her all pretty and close to original, but I'd like to be able to drive her along the way. Normandy Blue with Autumn Yellow wheels (under the brushed white). More pics eventually. It took me 10 minutes to get these two. Long time away from this style of forum.

Hey Cesar! I was in Hill City 2 yr ago in june and raining like hell, had my jeep on an open trailer and thus was reluctant to take the train. Did spend much time in the museum, very cool.  I see your profile sez train engineer-that's gotta be fun on a scenic rail.

Welcome, I got my first taste of a true flat fender in RC.  I had a 48 when I lived there.  You will love the smaller body on the forest service trails in the hills!

Yep. The train is pretty fun! I would love to put some rail wheels on the jeep when she runs well enough.  I saw someone roll through yesterday (?) with a red jeep on a flatbed. Looked nice from the short time i could see it.

Smile From the time I've spent in the Hill City area and from reports from locals, I'm not surprised that the gearboxes are full of water and rust. Or - I see a Colorado license plate, did you get it there? If so, I'm surprised it's not too hot to touch! Angry   BW

FG welcome to the madness.  Lots of roads and trails just west of town to explorer.  Keep the photos coming.

Lots of info and help on the site and in the area if you run into problems.

That brings back memories.  When I was there the group went back to camp and I stayed to look around the  museum.  Went in sunny....came out pouring rain and dark!  Drove back with summer top, no doors, and manual wipers!  Good thing I use RainX!

BW, yes I got it I Colorado. What do you mean hot? I did get it with a title, but neglected to get the sale price on the BOS. My bad. Unfortunately, the seller will not respond to any correspondence.. So the local office says I have to pay taxes on  the average book value. $19,700... Angry I should be able to have that sorted out next week.

If that's the average book value, either someone's looking in the wrong book or I need to sell a Jeep!
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

So for every $500 2A out there there is one worth $38,900.  Got it.

Question:  IS there one worth $38,900?

[QUOTE=Fallguy173]BW, yes I got it I Colorado. What do you mean hot? I did get it with a title,  /QUOTE]

LOL  That was a reference to the weather. Most of what I’ve seen in the Hill City area was wet and cold, and we’ve had a long streak here in Northeastern Colorado of near-and-over 100 degree, desert-dry weather. Right now it’s 58*, foggy and wet after .160” of rain during the night. Feels pretty good. BW

I dig Hill City.  Although, it always seems to be raining cats and dogs when I've been through there.  Does the sun ever shine?Wink

It was hot that day that I picked it up.
Might get to 70° today in Hill City...
