I bought a horn like yours last weekend at the Spring Willys Reunion, perfect condition. I'm unclear as to whether the horn mounts on the driver's side cowl (as you've mounted yours) or on the driver's side inner fender.

I saw jeeps at the reunion with horns in both locations. Can anyone confirm what the factory location should be for a 1947 2A?
Mine is a 46 and it had the remnants of the original horn there but it was not repairable, one of the other early production items I have also is the dash light switch on the lower left edge of the dash, I am trying to keep as much in its original position and use as much as possible of original parts , try and salvage what I can even if it means spending weeks trying to repair or straighten the parts and panels, I even have the original dimmer switch, head light switch that with a little cleaning of the contacts inside are going to be quite usable, One of the parts I am working on at this time if I am not painting or body work is the front marker lights, they are in very rough shape, I have cleaned the metal housings in my molasses dip and filled the holes with JB weld and for the front bezel the same thing but I will half to paint over the chrome due to all the pitting.
Originally I was going to install a dual filament bulb in the front marker lights to accommodate turn signals until I found a Signal Stat 800 that is able to flash a single filament bulb with no modifications, for me this is part of the fun in repairing and restoring this jeep.

Just a little more painting this afternoon, I moved my pop up paint booth to the back yard today because my son has brought out his Mustang to the driveway and its not driveable with the brake booster out and I didn't think he wants a green mustang.

Andy, thanks for showing more progress with your clever 'pop-up paint booth!' Love it! You've inspired me to create a similar 'facility' for my 2A and M100 paint jobs this summer.

What compressor are you using?
CJ2A #140275 "Ziggie" (purchased new by my dad in 1947)
ACM #124334
CJ3A windshield, Warn Overdrive
1953 Strick M100 trailer
Serial #18253

So I made a little split rivet tool and it worked great and then there is the radiator welting and staples, I started by using a piece of welding rod and heating it up and piercing the welt or felt.

The craftsmanship on this build is top notch! I also like the environment and conditions that it is being done in. Your pics show so much life going on in the background! Love it!

So it was swap meet time again at the tradex and a couple of finds and of course some progress with finishing up the radiator felt and a wiper arm for my vacuum wiper motor, I found the on line wiper arms that are listed for the cj2a do not fit , so with a little modification I now have a drivers wiper.

I think I will fab up a mount for the bumper or something like that, it was too nice of a light to pass up at the swap meet.

Just another great afternoon tinkering on the jeep with mounting up the hood and fenders. Now to roll it outside and check over my work making sure bolts are tight and cotter pins are in place.
