Anyone here go with the Mechanical Brake light switch mounted on the MC cover? If so how did you route the wires. I been wondering about them getting involved with the Pedal arms etc. Also any tips on how to locate the Switch for reference I am talking about this type of switch.

Looks to me like this will have to be done once the Tub is on the Chassis. But I can at least make up the pig tail now.

No experience with a mechanical switch on a Willys - only on motorcycle rear brakes.
But I am curious as to why you are going this route vs hydraulic pressure?

Well simple enough for me as everything in my brake system except the backing plates is new and not stock.So rather then add a hydraulic switch to an already complicated system that has now a Dual Master Cylinder residual pressure valves and a Hurst Line Lock setup complete with it's own hydraulic switch. I decided a super easily serviced mechanical switch I can access standing next to the drivers door opening. Also I would have to invent somewhere to attach a hydraulic valve.

When I did the dual master cylinder on the '64 I mounted a lever switch on the under side of the master cylinder inspection cover.  Taped the two leads to gather and there have not been problems.  The lever would lose contact with the brake pedal shaft so I made a stop for it.  I am sure you can make a lever switch work for you.

I put one on mine last year. It was easy. I bolted it to the access cover and just moved the wires from the old switch to the new. It works great.

I’m using a mechanical switch for a motorcycle.  I mounted it to the frame and hooked the pull spring to the cotter pin on the brake rod to the master cylinder.  Works perfect every time.  Very happy with it.
