On the frame is the letter “D” and then the serial number. Any significance to that or is that standard? Thanks.

Have a better picture

Don't take the picture super close. Stand a few feet away then edit the picture smaller.

The tag is on the outer front left. I’ll try to get a better picture tomorrow. Sorry for the frustration and thanks for the help.

It almost looks like a dmv assigned a number, the original tags were flipped over and the dmv number stamped on the now exposed backs

Also those tags are riveted on Thats not original Originally they came with Screws that look like these

As supplied by dataplates4U.com as being exact copies of the original mounting screws.

What ever you do if your title matches those numbers do not screw with them. If you trying to do a factory restoration find a way for the Actual tags to stick over those or something. My Willys is registered off the Original Engine Number No clue where that Original engine is but I have a valid title with those numbers on it so when I had new tags made up it was those numbers that got put on them right or wrong the state always wins.

Same with mine; title uses an engine number with a letter prefix, but that engine is long gone.

I wanted to get dataplates4U to make me plates but I can't get that guy to respond to queries. I have a letter and number set that matches the font size for the CJ2A but need to buy a letter set to match the vin numbers font. They are slightly narrower.
