I picked this up back around the end of March, but wasn't ready for it, lol. Looking to get going on cleaning up and straightening out some stuff so I figured I'd start a project thread to document my starting point. Pretty solid as is, I've been using it as of late to haul stuff to the transfer station... glamour job
![]() She has most of her desirable bits, the hitch/landing leg/safety chains (though the links at the start are quick links now)/ arrow tailight and license plate bracket (in need of work)/uncut passenger side tail panel... not sure on the tailgate chains. The hinges have been bubba replaced, and the floor has some isolated pinhole rust out, and generally covered in dings and dents awaiting a hammer and dolly. Picking up in midcoast Maine . . Five hours later in south central MA ![]() . . A PO covered the pinholed floor with 1/8" or so steel plate. Oddly I don't think it's welded in and if so very little. It appears they laid 1/4" round stock around the perimeter and caulked the living crap out of it. Should come out pretty easy..."should" . . This should be the worst of what needs attention under the plate . . I plan to take the 16.5 tires off and replace with 16" NDTs, "cuz", so I think it'll be all but level after the swap . . I'll post some detailish pics of the "bits" tonight, but early on that floor plate is coming out and the tailgate hinges are getting sorted... happy to have it ![]() . Just for fun, here's a pic I got from the guy in Maine from when he bought it in NC. The original owners grandson used it for carting his hunting dogs around .

Any self-respecting canine would see that thing as a dog-pound on wheels. Glad you stripped off that wooden wonder and are returning the Bantam to a proper jeep trailer.

Nice find! Looking forward to watching you fix it up. I would like to see closeups of the Fulton coupler underside and the individual parts if you are so inclined. I have to diagnose why mine pops off the ball occasionally. I have some thoughts but seeing yours disassembled might help.
