Russ,
Can I ask what all he did for you? And did you have any issues with him or the work they did?

Curious why you can't do the work yourself?  Is it a lack of shop space, or lack of skill?  Learning to perform body work and general mechanical maintenance comes with owning an old jeep.

They did the front floors, hat channels, and side repair panels. Good work at a fair price. No issues, I just need to get it all painted and finished.

I want it to look good. I’ll be doing the mechanicals myself.

Thanks, Russ.

I just can't see the economics of shipping a tub back and forth working out.

I can easily see a combination of no space, lack of skills, time, etc.  Sometimes even if you know how to do something, it's better to farm the job out.  Learning and doing is on its own rewarding but sometimes just isn't doable.

I would have trouble justifying shipping.  I've always sought out "within driving distance" delivering stuff on my trailer.  It allows me to drop in while the work is progressing and between us work through deviations or changes that pop up.

I’d like to find some place closer, but if I have to make a drive to get it done right, I’m willing.

Just curious of how much you are planning to spend on the Tub-resto ?

Off my hip, and not being a bodyman, i'm thinking $5k bodywork & paint.
If a guy could get all that for $2,500 it would be nice. :)

Henry is a Willys encyclopedia.  All they do is willys restorations.
Ask for Justin or Henry.  Some of the ones they have restored are simply incredible.  You would not be disappointed.

Not sure what all that computer jibberish is on my response.  I can't delete it off!

Dave is a United States Marine.....The needs of the military makes it difficult to do that kind of work effectively when frequent moves makes a long term project difficult.......AND he's right, he wants it to look good.....good bodywork is an art form.Wink
