I currently have a floor starter in my 12v CJ3a with the manual style Bendix. I'd like to convert to a Cj2a style starter so I can either use a floor start with an automatic Bendix or switch to a key start.
Model number - MZ-4113 This is the style of starter I'm looking for. Edited by unclemoak - 14 Mar. 2019 at 2:24am |

Does it have to be 12 V? Most of the time you can run the 6v starter in a 12v system.

You can’t do that unless you install the 2A flywheel to match it. If you can find a Henry J starter, that’s exactly what you want. Also Ron Fitzpatrick sells brand new MB/2A starters in 12V.

Doesn’t have to be a 12v, I’d take a 6v as well.

I’m not the design engineer, no clue! 😮 I have a poor memory but I believe the 2A is around 98-100 tooth ring gear, the 3A is 129 or there about. A search here will net much info on the topic!....
