Front Commando part numbers are:
943144 left 937949 right Front Intermediate CJ’s are: 8121379 left 8121380 right Front post 1975 CJ’s are: 32301047 left 32301048 right Rear backing plates will accept park brake cables. You will need to drill two new 3/8” mount holes on these. Rear post 1975 CJ’s are: 3201051 left 3201052 right There are many other 11” Bendix plates that can be made to fit. That is what I already posted.
Those are all backing plate numbers. I just typed in on eBay and saw a set of two plates available. Edited by oldtime - 23 July 2021 at 10:15am |

No one manufactures the backing plates new, you have to find good used ones.

Oldtime, is the last P/N listed a Ford backing plate?
If not do you know anything about using them?
I would guess they would be easier to find. I might even have a spare pair from my '56 F100. |

I don’t have anything other than Jeep and some OEM part numbers.
Those are CJ numbers and may be the same as some of the Jeep “J” trucks, Wagoneers etc. Can’t do it all …so no Ford, Chevy, Toyota nor Lamborghini numbers from me. Ha ha ha ! Typical sellers rarely identify the plates by the original part number. Most any Jeep from Late 60’s to the 80’s will use late design 11” Bendix. Front drum CJ parts from 1972 through 1976 are ideal.

SO everyone not using a stock proportioning valve with built in residual pressure valves is using something like Wilwood valves (10PSI for drum brakes). I have a suggestion for a sealer to use on the 1/8NPT threads on the adapters if you happen to mess up the preapplied sealer. Permatex 54540 Pneumatic and Hydraulic Sealant not cheap but highly recommended on the Hot Rod forums.

Not meaning to highjack the thread but my question seemed appropriate to the topic. Will Willys pickup truck brake backing plates from the Dana 53 axle work as a direct bolt on to the CJ2a Dana 41 axle? If not a direct bolt on, is it possible with any modifications.

I converted my 51 Willys wagon to disc brakes and have the old set of brakes sitting in a box. Would be interested in trying them on my 3A.

I appreciate it. The donor truck is potentially a 1959. Does it have the two adjustment points as well or is it a different setup?
Thanks

I am interested in buying an 11 inch brake kit from
Herm the overdrive guy. Has anyone done business with him? If so what do you think of him and his parts. Thanks Bills46CJ2A
