Hello All.
I have been searching for an Autolite Generator GDZ 4817A. Some one contacted me on another forum and he had the following to say - I have a generator GDZ 4817A with the Autolite tag. BUT at both the Armature and Field terminal is stamped 12V?? It appears this was stamped by hand. I do not remember what vehicle this came from other than a CJ-2A Can someone tell me if this is correct or not ? Should there by any 12 V markings stamped on the Generator ? Thank You

I would assume it was re-wound for 12v by an automotive electrical shop and was stamped by them to identify the modification.

This! The few times I have had this done, the shop stamped the generator the same way.
