Here are a few photos of my jeep I got just a little while ago. I am new to wrench-turning... but loving it!

My uncle has been helping me get the jeep up and running. He has gone through the brakes. Next couple weeks it should be on the road again.
I also bought a hardtop on eBay. It should be a nice addition to the jeep especially for the cold winters in Eastern Washington. $50 seems like a steal of a deal for this top... of course I still need to pick it up and check it out. |

A few months back picked up a set of wheels ($100) to replace the oversized 30" tires and an early 2a rear seat ($45) on craigslist:
The rear seat still has the original fabric, but could use some TLC.

My uncle has been helping me with the jeep. Progress includes: new paint job, wheels, new brake cylinders/lines, fixing some body cancer.
Finally I got to drive it around in his pasture for a good while. It was so fun. The jeep had been out of commission for 1 year+. It will be back here again in a couple weeks for some trail driving! I like the look of the machinery gray on red wheels. The original color I believe was pickett gray. Additonal photos are posted on my Flickr account below. |

Funny how we all have a similar pic of us and our jeep, and a big grin on our face!
Such a simple little machine can make us smile so big....
Got to love these lil jeeps!!

Halsey,
I also like the way you can always tell people who "get it". They smile as big as we do when we drive by. Wish I had a buck for every thumbs up I've gotten, I'd be able to restore a Jeep for nothing and have lots of money left over! Edited by kilroy - 10 Aug. 2011 at 3:01pm |
