Stan,
Glad to hear you say this. I have been watching this thread and hoping I did not make a mistake. My new 16" rims are at the powder coater and 7.00 16 Firestones are waiting to be mounted.

Do you recall how far off the speedometer is?

My tires rub in the rear wheelhouse when stuffed and on the front springs in turns. I could probably adjust the stops to take care of the front but I am too lazy.

If one plans to run stock suspension, 700 x 16 NDTs, and climb some rocks, plan on some wheel rub.

Here’s the drivers side. Passenger side is even shinier because the rubber has fallen off the bump stop. Maybe someday I’ll fix that.

Hey Micah,
I’ve never done a true measurement of the speedo. I have a repop from Walcks and I think it is pretty close, at least when I drive past those neighborhood speed limit signs that flah at you when you’re going too fast, I’m within a mile or two of correct. That is at 25 or 30 mph.

Stan, I am going through the same process.  Bought 4 Treadwright 215 X 85 X 16 to go with the stock Willys wheels I found. They turned out to be 15 in. so this A.M I found 7.00 X 15 Power King Super Traction in Nebraska for $95.00 and will pick up Monday.  The 215s are for sale and I have skinny tires for BHR. yea!

fltfndr, would you mind posting some pictures once they get mounted up. If I stick with the 15s I’m considering those tires but I’m not sure if the look of the tread will be aggressive enough.

If you are referring to the super traction, the tread pattern is similar to the old Armstrong Tru Trac but sidewall is much heavier.  I don't for see any problems with fitment as I am currently running 11" drum brakes and 1 1/4" spacers. The spacers  are just for a wider stance.

It certainly seems that there is a better selection of 16" wheel tire sizes out there.
