Dean, I dont think thats true. I have 5 column shifts, one with body off and a 47 with body off, they look the same to me. The shifter arms fit nice and neat. Frame has nothing to do with column or floor shift.

Too many jeeps.....GOT JEEP ?

Thanks Ritt, for posting picts! That jeep is almost completly stock. Bought it from a young couple who bought it from an elderly couple who bought it new. The kid told me that the original owner used it to drive around his orchard and spray his trees. No evidence of a compressor unit, he must have towed a trailer with a sprayer. Anyway the original owner had the jeep for 48 years. He also told the kid that I bought it from, that the miles on the odometer are the original miles,28,000.  Hey Dean, I do not have the original motor, but on the title it has the original motor vin# 11076. But that's OK your motor would do just fine. You are one of the lucky few to have the right motor.....

Rick, nice looking 3A!  Especially for an Oregon rig.  Interesting bracket above the spare bracket.  Is that part of a cover frame of some sort?

The steering mounting points are different on the early column shifts, bellcrank?, if I remember correctly. The one I kept is stored elsewhere. I've had 11 and I think I remember that point.

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES, THEY ARE NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY STILL BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN YOU PUSH THEM DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS

Hi Oakes , This one has the bellcrank mounted on the frame slightly of center to the left, is that correct? or has bubba struck again!

RT

The piece above the spare tire bracket is a vibration dampner for the spare tire, made of wood and attached by two screws.

Well, that mystery is solved. My 3A came with a spare tire mounted and I took it off and did not even occur to me what that little piece of wood was for. Thanks Randy!....Rick

Randy, thanks for the good info.  I am always amazed at what I don't know or have not seen on a CJ.
