Photo of front bumper CJ2a11809 and serial number plates

The hole on the passenger side down low size about 1/4 inch, I don't believe is a factory hole.

Hope this helps,

A few more photos of the 45 CJ2A for your information

The original color is Pasture Green that has oxidized and faded to the current color and patina.

The CA license plate is original to the vehicle and included the smaller 46 year tag.

The jeep has been over the Rubicon twice by its second owner, I am the third owner. I have no plans on restoring the jeep. I have done the electrical and mechanical maintenance on her.

My granddaughter named the jeep Rustee, so that is the name we use.

Hope this helps in your restoration.

I am probably going to get into trouble now that I kind of know how to post photos on the wonderful website. A few more for reference

The tachometer is not factory, I just wanted to have fun when Rustee is displayed at the various car shows and cruises. When my wife and I do a cruise, I put in the IH AM/FM 8 track player for tunes. Nowadays, people look at the player and ask what is 8 track. My usual reply it is better than 4 track, but not as good as cassettes.

A photo of the 45 CJ 2A at a Rat Rod meet near Grants Pass, Oregon a good number of years ago. The lady was kind enough to pose with the jeep. She had entered the pin up contest for the meet. I don't think she won though. Most of the Tats appeared to be a Nautical theme.

Note the square plates that hold the top bow interior retaining brackets on the windshield panel. As you probably know, the later ones were a circular pattern

I need some of the square plates w/ studs that hold the top bow interior retaining brackets on the windshield panel for my 45. Someone repaired the original tin on it in he past and left them off.

Glad to help. Will post some more photos that were taken a number of years ago.

That is about it, if you have need for any more photos of Rustee, let me know.

Have a great rest of the weekend,

Frank

I'm late to the conversation here obviously, but trying to understand these various Serial Number plates on the VEC vehicles...

In the first photo here, is that the "frame tag" just behind the front bumper?

And the second photo, right side firewall - there's the "Patent Plate" and the "Body Number" (smaller) plate immediately under it...

Do both these plates show the same number (and include "CJ2A") - or does the Body Number tag display the Tub Number???

Thanks!

Vintage Don,

The SN TAG on the inside of the driver's side frame is 11809
The Upper TAG is 11809
The Lower TAG is 1821
The Tailgate Stamping is 1821

I hope that answers your question,

Frank

Vintage Don,

I went out to the jeep and looked at the body tag. Yes, it has a stamped CJ-2A prefix, but it is above and to the left looking at the tag to where the body tag stamping 1809 is located.

The word BODY is also stamped on the tag under the WILLYS and above the 1809

I hope this isn't confusing to you. If it is let me know I can send the photo to you.

If it is not too inconvenient and you have that photo handy - then, yes, I would like to see it. On the earlier one, I can't really make out where they stamped "BODY" on there.

I'll have to check. I think I may have a stack of those stickers from the 36th Jamboree.
